I've had the privilege of traveling some. I've been to Alaska, Hawaii and several states in between, not to mention England, France, and Africa. I am amazed all the time of the greatness of God. There is beauty everywhere we turn - from snow-capped mountains to tropics to deserts.
I have found both at home and abroad that God's peace is ever with us. Of course, we must let His peace abide in us for us to experience it. When we hurry and worry, we create our own chaos and anxiety. But when we rest in Christ, we can experience His peace no matter the circumstance.
I remember when my mother was told that she needed her leg amputated. She wouldn't have it! Her mother had a leg amputated due to polio and my mom knew the pain my grandmother had experienced. She also knew that the alternative to the amputation was death. For days she chose death. But after much prayer and wrestling with her family and physicians, Mom experienced PEACE. The peace of God washed over her and it was evident to everyone.
I'll never forget the day I walked into her hospital room after she had come to terms with the surgery and felt the peace of God about the situation. Suddenly, her focus and concern were on others and not herself. She told me that the Lord had assured her she could and would go on with life until He said otherwise.
That is peace beyond understanding! I've felt it in my life. Haven't you?
