A light in the dark brings hope.

Rain in a drought brings hope.

A rainbow after a flood brings hope.

Help in crisis brings hope.

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.  He is our HOPE.

This year, I want you to know the Creator of the universe as your HOPE in this life and the life to come.

I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ when I was 12 years old. At that time, salvation meant that I was going to heaven when I die.  And I am.  But Jesus gives us so much more than a secure eternity; He gives us Hope for today.

That truth – Jesus is Hope for today - took a little longer for me to learn in my walk with Christ.

Like many people, I made decisions based on what I thought was best and I really thought Jesus would just “bless” me in the path of my choosing.

After years of going my own way, all the while serving in the church and ‘doing’ Christian activities, I found myself at the end of my rope.  I thought I was hopeless.

But Jesus is faithful! He continued to pursue me and remind me that He is my Hope.  My station in life is not my hope. My situation in life is not my hope.  My family is not my hope. Jesus is my Hope!

If you are reading this, Jesus is pursuing you.  He is reminding you that He is your Hope.

You may think your life is too messed up for Jesus to help; it’s not.

You may think you’re not worth Jesus’ help; He’s already proved you are.

You may think no one could ever love you; Jesus does.

You may think there is no way out; Jesus is the Way.

This world has trouble, but Jesus has overcome the world.  Therefore, regardless of what comes your way, Jesus is the answer.  He is your HOPE.

If you’ve never experienced the Hope I’m telling you about, you can…

Romans 10:9-10 (ESV)

9 if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

If you belong to Jesus but are starting to think that you are hopeless, let me remind you that Jesus is pursuing you.  He has promised you a future and a HOPE.  Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

Grace and Peace, my friend.
