Take Care of Yourself

We have all "run ourselves ragged", haven't we?  As you well know, there are times when it seems we just have to, but other times we push too far when we didn't have to do so.

I'm in the healthcare field and we often see what's known as "caregiver fatigue".  That's when the person taking care of the sick/infirmed gives out first.  If you are a caregiver, ask someone to help you so you can have a break.

But most of us aren't in that situation and yet we find ourselves running on empty more often than we should.  How can we care for someone else if we don't take care of ourselves?

And He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.) Mark 6:31
Just like Jesus said in the verse above, we must rest a while. We need our rest.
I ask that if you are feeling tired and worn out, rest.  Others may depend on you, but you can't lend your strength if you have none left.
Sometimes the rest we are longing for is more than physical - it's spiritual.
If you are restless with a longing you can't put your finger on, go to Jesus.  Repent and confess your sin, ask Him to save you and be Lord of your life and He will.
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
